Restaurant, Meals and Bar

The cosy bar at the Strathy Inn has wonderful views to the open moorland on the surrounding hills, down into Strath Strathy and over to the dunes on the coast. You can relax in an armchair beside the open fire and sample our range of malt whiskies or specially selected bottled beers featuring those from several excellent small breweries in the Highlands and Islands. There are 20 beers available. Craig is happy to advise to help you select a drink to suit your taste. Visitors may like to play a game of darts, cards or enjoy a board game after a day exploring the local landscape.

Food is served at lunchtimes from 12 noon till 2 pm and in the evenings from 6 – 8.30 pm. (see opening hours). Our focus is on home-cooked food using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible, with a mixture of traditional Scottish fare and international dishes. Please take a look at our sample menu. We always feature a home-made soup of the day and at lunchtimes we also serve a selection of freshly made sandwiches.

Vegetarian options are always available. If you have special dietary requirements please let us know before you come and we will do our best to accommodate them. We can usually accommodate gluten free and vegan diets but it helps to have advance notice. As we are a very small establishment we do recommend that you book ahead to be sure of getting a table, particularly in the evenings during the holiday season.

Thursday and Friday evenings are “curry nights” at the Strathy Inn. In addition to our main menu we offer a range of curries and accompaniments to eat in or take away. Please take a look at our curry menu. If you wish you can phone ahead to order your take away and collect it at a pre-arranged time. Alternatively just relax at the bar while we prepare your meal.

Children are welcome in the lounge bar - there is a separate children’s menu and we can provide children’s portions of some of our other dishes.
